Josh Hechter

General Manager and Founder

Josh is a native of Manitoba, Canada and founded J2  after an extensive playing and coaching career that expands across the US and Canada. He is a retired collegiate and professional hockey player who played at St. Anselm College before signing with the Rockford IceHogs, New Mexico Scorpions and the Huntsville Havoc. After his playing career, Josh returned to Winnipeg to coach the Northern Stars of the MWJHL to league championship. The following year, he was hired by the North American Hockey Academy of the JWHL to coach both the Red and White teams. Josh returned to Boston to finish his degree in Sport Management at Mount Ida college in Newton, M.A and was a volunteer assistant coach at Brown University under head coach Digit Murphy. Josh was then hired by the Boston Shamrocks where he spent five years as the head coach. After those successful years, he left the Shamrocks to start his own franchise in the JWHL, the New England Hockey Club. Throughout his coaching career, Josh has been instrumental in placing over 75 players into NCAA Division I, NCAA Division III and CIS programs.
